CDC Health Resources

The perspectives and needs of LGBT people should be routinely considered in public health efforts to improve the overall health of every person and eliminate health disparities.  The CDC has many resources supporting the LGBT community.

The Center for LGBTQ Health Equity

Through health care services, education, training, research, and advocacy, the Center for LGBTQ Health Equity is working to end the health disparities that exist within LGBTQ communities and give patients worldwide—regardless of how they identify—the opportunity to live the healthiest life possible.

Embracing diversity and inclusion, the Center for Transgender Health provides affirming, objective, person-centered care. Daydream Sunshine Initiative

Daydream Sunshine Initiative offers a sliding fee for patients without insurance and to provide patients dealing with HIV streamlined access to testing, medical care and pharmacy services. They also provide outreach testing for HIV!

LGBT National Online Peer-Support Chat

Utilizing a diverse group of LGBT volunteers, we operate three national hotlines, the LGBT National Hotline, the LGBT National Youth Talkline, and the LGBT National Senior Hotline as well as private, volunteer one-to-one online chat, that helps both youth and adults with coming-out issues, safer-sex information, school bullying, family concerns, relationship problems and a lot more.

National Center on LGBTQ Aging

The National Resource Center on LGBTQ+ Aging is the country’s first and only technical assistance resource center focused on improving the quality of services and supports offered to lesbian, gay, bisexual and/or transgender older adults, their families and caregivers.

Order a Free Safe Sex Kit

The Anne Arundel Department of Health offers to mail a free safe sex kit to county residents. You need only ask. They offer other various health service including STI testing, Sexual assault counseling, and more.

St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Eastport

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is dedicated to preventing suicide among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) people. As a public health organization, AFSP believes that it is our individual and collective responsibility to support the mental health and wellbeing of LGBTQ people.

Gay and Sober’s mission is simple – to provide a safe, fun, and enriching experience to the sober community. Our primary purpose is to encourage unity and enhance one’s sobriety.
