In honor of Black History Month, The Pride Center of Maryland, in collaboration with GILEAD Sciences, is proud to present the highly anticipated premiere of Black As UR, an event that promises to be an unforgettable celebration of Black culture, resilience, and pride. The screening will take place at The Parkway Theatre on Saturday, February 15th, at 5 PM.
This landmark event will feature Angelica Ross, the trailblazing star of the hit TV series POSE, as a special guest. Ross, an accomplished actress, businesswoman, and passionate advocate for transgender rights, will grace the audience with her presence, sharing her unique perspective on Black and LGBTQIA+/SGL representation in media and beyond.
The premiere of Black As UR aims to celebrate the multifaceted experiences within the Black community while fostering conversations about visibility, inclusion, and progress. Through powerful storytelling and intimate narratives, this award-winning documentary sheds light on the intersectionality of racial and queer justice.
